Brian Gillespie, Principal, Designing Business
Way back in 1996, Clement Mok published “Designing Business”. I owe Mr. Mok a great debt of gratitude as the book had an immense impact on my career as a designer. These two words allowed me to make sense of the work I was doing at the time in the early days of the dot-com revolution… designing the user experience of new digital business start-ups. It inspired me to study for an MBA in Design Management and set the course for my approach to design and my role as design manager and strategic designer right to this present day.
Speaking of which, as an independent consultant specializing in the design and innovation of business I help my clients and partners manage the diverse activities associated with driving business success by design. With a background in UX, CX and Service Design I focus on researching, designing and managing for integrated multi-touchpoint digital and physical customer experience ecosystems. I collaborate with an extensive network of exceptional and cutting-edge design agencies and talented individuals worldwide. My work is predominantly carried out in Europe and the US. Recent productive collaborations include PARK, Mad*Pow, and the E*Trade UX team. Recent clients include global firms in financial services, pharmaceuticals, and technology. Over the past 10 years, my clients have included – American Express, Audi, Adidas, Vanguard, GSK, E*Trade, Fidelity Investments, Cisco, Tauck, and Yamaha Motors Europe.
